The Legacy of Aipan
Ancient Roots
Originating from the Kumaon region, Aipan (derived from 'Arpan') is a traditional ritualistic folk art dating back centuries, primarily done during special occasions and festivals.
Sacred Symbolism
Made with 'Geru' (red clay) and 'Biswar' (rice flour paste), every motif holds deep spiritual significance, invoking blessings of prosperity, protection, and fertility.
Women Led
Traditionally passed down from mother to daughter, this art form is the exclusive domain of the women of the household, making it a powerful symbol of matriarchal heritage.
